Alvin R. Goulbourne, Sr. (1929-2011)


Alvin Roy Goulbourne, 82, died April 15, 2011, in his home in Huntsville, Alabama.
Pastor Goulbourne retired in 1996, after serving the Seventh-day Adventist Church for 45 years in various roles such as teacher, pastor, book and Bible house manager, president of the Bermuda Mission of Seventh-day Adventists, and executive secretary of the Atlantic Union Conference in South Lancaster, Massachusetts. After retirement, he ran the Seventh-day Adventist Community Services Center in Huntsville for five years.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy Madeline Goulbourne of Huntsville; son, Alvin Roy Goulbourne Jr. and wife Margaret of Bermuda; daughter, Apryl Joy Goulbourne of Huntsville; son, David Michael Goulbourne and wife Joan Elizabeth of Bermuda; daughter, Julie Marketa Ann Goulbourne Brown and husband Michael Traverse Brown of Laurel, M.D.; grandchildren, Alvin Roy Goulbourne III, Illiana Alesabet Goulbourne, Michael Traverse Brown III, Alyssa Brown and Logan Michelle Brown; brothers, Eric Goulbourne, Sidney Goul-bourne and Westly Earl; sister, Etoy Hilton; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, in-laws and other relatives and friends. His parents, Samuel and Hilda Dunn Goulbourne, and a brother, Donald Goulbourne, predeceased him.
